The Christmas decorations

Today I would like to share with you patterns for a Christmas bell and Snowflake. They are both very easy and quick to make. You can even manage before Christmas Eve.

One hour Christmas bell pattern

The size of the bell really depends on the material and size of the hook.

You need:
A few grams of any material you choose – it can really be anything you wish to use for your bell
A suitable crochet hook for chosen material
A little ribbon, beads, bubbles or anything else you wish to decorate your bell with

Stitches used: I’m going to use US terminology here
(slst.)    slip stitch
(ch)       chain
(sc)       single crochet
(dc)       double crochet
(hdc)      half double crochet
(trc)       treble crochet
(sp.)       space
(betw.)   between
(pr.)       previous row
*  *       repeat

I was using a circular crochet method, ending each round with slst. Do not turn the work at the end.

The Bell:
Round 1: Ch 4, slst. to form the ring. Ch3 (counts as dc), 10 dc’s into the ring, slst. into third ch1. (11dc’s)
Round 2: Slst. into next sp. betw. dc’s, ch4 (counts as dc + ch1), *dc - ch1 into next sp. betw. dc’s* around, (11dc’s /11 ch1-sp.), slst. into third ch from first ch4
Round 3: Slst. into next ch1 sp., ch3 (counts as dc), dc into same sp., *2dc - ch1 into next ch1 sp.* around, (22dc’s /11 ch1-sp.), slst. into third ch from first ch3
Round 4: Slst. betw. next 2dc’s, ch3 (counts as dc), dc-ch1 into same sp., *2dc - ch1 betw. next 2dc’s* around, (22dc’s /11 ch1-sp.), slst. into third ch from first ch3
Rounds 5, 6, 7, 8: Repeat round 4
Round 9: Slst. betw. next 2dc’s, ch3 (counts as dc), dc-ch2 into same sp.,*2dc – ch2 betw. next 2dc’s* around, (22dc’s /11 ch2-sp.), slst. into third ch from first ch3
Round 10: Repeat round 9
Round 11: Slst. betw. next 2dc’s, ch2 (counts as hdc)-dc-trc-dc-hdc into same sp., sc into next ch2 sp., *hdc-dc-trc-dc-hdc betw. next 2dc’s, sc into next ch2 sp.* around, (11 groups of ‘hdc-dc-trc-dc-hdc’ /11 sc’s in ch2-sp.), slst. into second ch from first ch2
Weave in ends.

Finishing:
Now it’s the time to decorate your bell with the ribbon or anything else you wish to.

(trc)       treble crochet
(sp.)       space
